Course Overview
The Level 2 Award for Door Supervisors in the Private Security Industry (Refresher) is for existing door supervisors who wish to renew their licence.The Security Industry Authority (SIA) has introduced a refresher requirement for those applying to renew their Door Supervisor licence – anyone wishing to renew their licence from April 2025 must have achieved this qualification.
The Level 2 Award for Door Supervisors in the Private Security Industry (Refresher) is suitable for learners to:
• develop up-to-date knowledge and skills required to continue to work effectively and safely as a door supervisor
• continue to work as a licensed door supervisor
• achieve a licence to practise
• achieve a nationally recognised Level 2 qualification
• develop own personal growth and engagement in learning.
Entry requirements
To be eligible for the Door Supervisor Top-Up Refresher Training, you must have held an SIA licence within the last 3 years
English language entry requirements: Learners should, as a minimum, have language skills in reading, writing, speaking, and listening equivalent to the following: A B2 Level qualification on the Home Office’s list of recognized English tests and qualifications.
First Aid Entry requirements:Learners renewing their Door Supervisor licence will need to show that they hold a current and valid FirstAid or Emergency First Aid certi ficate*. This must meet
the requirements of the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981. Training centres must confirm that each learner is sufficiently qualified in First Aid or Emergency First Aid.
Learners must present or complete their First Aid or Emergency First Aid certificate before training and the certificate must be valid for at least 12 months from the course start date.

Entry requirements ACT- As a best practice we recommend that Learners must complete Both ACT Awareness e-Learning and Action Counters Terrorism (ACT) Security e-learning for security professionals before coming on any of our SIA link qualifications.
Guided Learning Hours:
Many of our courses are regulated by our awarding bodies and they have set the guided learning hours that candidates must achieve prior to sitting the assessment, either theory or practical and some cases both. Securematics Training will not cut courses short, as failure to attend the full guided learning hours may result in loosing your qualification and or having your SIA licence suspended.
External Quality Assurance:
From time to time there may be a delay in issuing candidate certificates, we understand that this delay may cause a delay in the SIA licence application, however the delay maybe due to having an annual External Quality Assurance visit or even an on the spot inspection, this is done by the awarding body to ensure that the training provider is following the policies and procedures of the awarding body, thus ensuring that the candidate is receiving the best possible services.
Please note:
If you are attending one of our Security Industry Authority (SIA) courses, the fees for the course do not include the SIA Licence fee, however Securematics Training will help you register with the SIA for your licence application.
